Pridelines Secures Major Three-Year Grant from ViiV Healthcare to Advance HIV/AIDS Programming and Creation of Warrior II

Updated: Dec 8

MIAMI, FL – November 4, 2024 – Pridelines, Miami’s LGBTQ community center, is thrilled to announce the award of a substantial three-year grant from ViiV Healthcare, totaling $300,000, to expand Pridelines’ programming focused on stopping the spread of HIV/AIDS. Through ViiV Healthcare’s Positive Action for Latinx Men initiative, this grant will empower Pridelines to enhance its community reach and introduce new, impactful programming, including the launch of Warrior II in Spanish, the expansion of the HALO Awards, and other essential initiatives targeting HIV/AIDS prevention and care.

“We are deeply grateful for ViiV’s significant commitment to Pridelines and the communities we serve,” said Dr. Edward Summers, Executive Director of Pridelines. “This grant is a testament to the impact of our work and our dedication to combating HIV/AIDS through inclusive and culturally-responsive programming.”

This announcement comes during a landmark year for Pridelines. The organization also secured a two-year grant from Miami Homes for All and the Homeless Trust, making history by establishing the first publicly funded LGBTQ housing initiative in Miami-Dade County. Additionally, Pridelines has expanded its reach by opening a new community center in Cutler Bay in partnership with Foo Society, marking the organization’s fourth location.

In 2024 alone, Pridelines has grown from one to four locations, nearly tripled its staff to almost 30 dedicated team members, and increased its engagement with the LGBTQ community by an astounding 300% over the previous year. This support from ViiV Healthcare ensures that Pridelines can continue building on this progress by offering expanded services, resources, and life-saving programming.

ViiV Healthcare’s Positive Action Team expressed their enthusiasm for the partnership, recognizing Pridelines as a pivotal organization in the fight against HIV/AIDS. The organization will begin implementing the grant upon the completion and approval of all financial documentation, which is currently underway.

Pridelines remains committed to advancing LGBTQ health, safety, and wellness and is eager to utilize this grant to drive impactful change across Miami-Dade County.
