Miami, FL - April 1, 2024
Gear up, cycling enthusiasts! The much-awaited joy ride is launching its first inaugural ride as a new organization to continue the joy from Miami to Key West spanning 165 miles of scenic, sun-kissed landscapes. This exciting event not only offers a supportive challenge for cyclists of all levels but also serves a noble cause, benefiting five returning charitable agencies from the recently sunsetted SMART Ride: Broward House, Compass, Empath Partners in Care, Miracle of Love, and Pridelines. Organized by FAB Adventures, The joy ride is set to take place November 22-23, 2024, inviting riders from near and far to spin the sunshine into every mile. Cyclists will embark on an exhilarating two-day journey, starting from the vibrant city of Miami and culminating in the picturesque paradise of Key West.
The agencies met the day before The SMART Ride Check Distribution Party in January,
and we agreed to stick together and build upon what Glen Weinzimer created in the
SMART Ride," said Julie Seaver, Compass’ CEO and board member of the new charitable organization. “The 100% give back will remain and we are thrilled that AH Monroe is supporting us in their commitment to being the sponsoring welcome wagon as The joy ride rolls into the lower Keys and Key West.”
Participants in the joy ride have the opportunity to fundraise and contribute to these
organizations, ensuring that vital resources reach those in need. Whether it's supporting
housing, healthcare services, HIV prevention, treatment, and care efforts, or mental
health services, every mile cycled will make a meaningful difference in peoples’ lives
across the state of Florida.
In addition to the charitable aspect, riders can look forward to the familiar and well-
organized rest stops for fueling up along the route, support vehicles, and enthusiastic
volunteers cheering them on.
“The camaraderie among participants, seeing old friends and meeting new ones, and
the sense of accomplishment at the finish line is what people always enjoyed about The
SMART Ride,” said Angus Bradshaw, CEO for Miracle of Love, one of the benefiting
agencies located in Orlando. “We are taking all of the elements we loved from the
previous ride to continue the journey.”
Registration for the joy ride is planned to launch with its new website and fundraising
platform on April 15th. Cyclists can choose to participate individually, or as part of a
team, adding an element of friendly competition and camaraderie to the ride.

The mission of “The joy ride” is committed to creating, producing, and overseeing
community-based events in which 100% of what the participant raises is returned to
benefiting non-profit organizations. In so doing, we act as an avenue for change in the
non-profit fundraising community. Through the events we produce, we will assemble
and sustain a group of thoughtful, committed citizens to build relationships and raise
funds to positively affect the lives of people, whom the citizens may have never met,
and in so doing challenge themselves to stretch the limits of what they thought they
could do as an individual. Learn more at www.thejoyridefl.org
